Project 001
Our first game. It’s early, it has changed shape twice already, and we’re not naming it until we know it survives contact with players. Devlogs start when the loop holds.

Independent games studio
Mut8 Labs is a small independent games studio. We take an idea, mutate it until it stops behaving, and keep whatever is still fun on the other side. We haven’t shipped anything yet — the first one is in the tank.
The studio
Most games get sanded down before they ever reach a player — every sharp edge argued away by someone who wasn’t in the room when it was fun. We’re built to stop that happening. Fewer people, shorter distance between a thought and a build you can hold.
Not small until we can afford otherwise — small because it’s the only size at which one person’s odd instinct reaches the build intact.
We don’t polish one idea for a year. We fork it, break it on purpose, and run the versions side by side to see which one people won’t put down.
Prototypes, devlogs, and the dead ends. If something we tried didn’t work, you’ll hear about that too — it’s the more useful half.
The lab
This is the honest version of a games page. Three chambers, one occupied. When there’s something worth showing it appears here first — not in a trailer six months after it stopped being interesting.

Incubating
Empty, and shown as empty. The next thing we start goes here — usually because a prototype refused to die quietly.

Reserved. If you’re a developer, artist or composer with something that belongs in here, the door isn’t locked.

Want to know the moment chamber 01 opens? Email us and we’ll tell you directly — no list, no automation, just a reply.
Sister company
Mut8 Studios is the other half of the same shop. Apps, tools, platforms, client work — anything built outside the games side comes from there. Same people, same standards, different problem space.
Contact
Press, publishers, collaborators, or someone who just wants to argue about a mechanic — all fine. One of us reads it.
